Mike McIntyre for Congress
Mike McIntyre was first elected back in 1996, during the baby days of the Internet. Over the course of the coming years, the Internet changed the way people searched for information, shopped, and communicated. Although the McIntyre Campaign had a website, the website had it’s roots back in the 1990s. It was time for a change.
The McIntyres hired us to redesign their logo while maintaining their existing brand. We deviated from an old version of the I Like Mike McIntyre for Congress logo and updated it while leaving it’s symbolism and color scheme relatively unchanged. The brand was already known in the 7th Congressional District of North Carolina and the campaign still had a good amount of leftover bumper stickers and yard signs. Not wanting to throw those completely out, we maintained key features of the already existing brand.
The website came next. Using the new branding, we developed a website with a new feel to it, linking into the Congressman’s Facebook profile and YouTube channel. We also incorporated a content management system for an efficient method of content publishing.

Logo Design
Along with rebuilding their outdated site, the McIntyres also thought it was time to update their logo. They had traditionally been using an iconograph of the United States Capitol and using throwback campaign speak such as “I Like Mike” as stheir logo. The McIntyres were interested in perhaps going a new way with the campaign design.
Not wanting to deviate far from the traditional look because the campaign still had a stash of campaign material with the existing logo, the McIntyres decided to update the logo to a more present feel.
